Urgent Care FAQs

What is modern urgent care?

Urgent care centers provide medical attention for illnesses and injuries that are not severe enough to require a visit to the emergency room, but need to be treated quickly. Modern urgent care utilizes technology such as automation and artificial intelligence to streamline the urgent care experience.

What types of conditions are treated at modern urgent care centers?

Like urgent care centers, modern urgent care centers, typically treat a wide range of conditions such as minor injuries, illnesses, and infections. A wholistic set of examples can be found in the "What We Treat" section of the website.

Can I go to an urgent care center instead of making a primary care appointment?

Yes, you can visit an urgent care center instead of making a primary care appointment. Urgent cares are open in the evening and every day of the week, providing a convenient alternative when primary care centers are not open. However, it's important to keep in mind that primary care doctors can provide ongoing care and management of chronic conditions, while urgent care centers are intended for urgent and acute needs.

Will my insurance cover an urgent care visit?

Yes, most insurance plans cover urgent care visits, but you need to check and confirmed this from your insurance provider. You can get more information from the 'Pricing & Insurance' page on the website.

Can I walk-in to a tru urgent care center or do I need to make an appointment?

Our urgent care centers accomodate both walk-ins and appointments. We recommend making an appointment using the links below to reserve your place in line and streamline your wait time in the clinic. However, you can also walk-in and we will aim to get you in and out within 30 minutes.

What is the difference between an urgent care center and an emergency room?

Urgent care centers provide medical attention for illnesses and injuries that are not severe enough to require a visit to the emergency room. Emergency rooms, on the other hand, provide medical attention for serious and life-threatening conditions that require immediate attention. Our urgent cares have significantly shorter wait times and lower costs than emergency rooms.

How long does it take to be seen at an urgent care center?

Our door to door times at our urgent care centers are 30 minutes on average. This means you will get in and out of the clinic within 30 minutes. However, wait times can vary depending on the number of patients being seen and the severity of their conditions at any moment in time. Thus, your door-to-door time may be either higher or lower than 30 minutes when visiting our centers.

Do I need a referral from my PC doctor to visit an urgent care center?
