Meet Dr. Manbir K. Takhar, MD, MPH, MRO. Founder and Medical Director

Dr. Takhar has been the Medical Director of Medical Access PC and Germantown Primary Care Associates (GPCA) since 1999. She has been named Top Doctor by Washingtonian Magazine each year since 2015.

Dr. Takhar completed her undergraduate studies as well as her medical degree in 1986. She began her Residency program at Harlem Hospital, division of Columbia University Medical system in New York City and finished her residency at Prince Georges Hospital in Cheverly, Maryland. She received her Master Degree in Public Health (MPH) from George Washington University and is board-certified in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Takhar has experience in Internal Medicine, Occupational Health, and Urgent Care Centers. She has worked in Montgomery and Prince George’s county as a Physician since 1997. In addition to these qualifications she is also a Civil Surgeon for United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and a Medical Review Officer (MRO) overseeing drug-screening programs for employers. Dr. Takhar also holds certification from The Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC). She fluently converses in English, Hindi, And Punjabi.

She has an outgoing and warm personality with great bed side manner. She enjoys gardening, shopping and spending time with her family where she actively participates in her two children’s lives. She loves traveling, reading, and sports. She developed her leadership skills as Captain of both the Basketball and Badminton teams.
