Q. Do you offer COVID-19 testing?
A. Yes, we offer COVID-19 testing at Germantown, Alexandria and Woodbridge locations.
Q. Do I need to schedule an appointment for COVID-19 testing?
A. Please walk into our clinic to get tested. Our last walk in patient for COVID-19 testing is accepted at 7PM on Weekdays and 3PM on weekends. We do not take appointments.
Q. Do I need a doctor’s order/referral?
A. No, we do not need any doctor’s order for COVID-19 as we at Medical Access understand it is a pandemic and prevention is better than cure.
Q. Do I need to have symptoms or been exposed to someone to be tested?
A. You can walk-in with or without symptoms into our facility and get yourself tested.
Q. What are the hours of operation and what days are you open?
A. We are open 7 days a week, our hours of operations are 8 AM to 8PM on weekdays and 8 AM to 4PM on weekends. Our last walk in patient for COVID-19 testing is accepted at 7PM on Weekdays and 3PM on weekends
Q. What is the average wait time?
A. Our average wait time is from 30 minutes to 1½ hour for the testing and the results are delivered within 2-3 hours for rapid tests and for PCR is 72 hours (business days) by our providers.
Q. What kind of COVID-19 tests do you have?
A. We are providing 3 types of tests in which our Antigen test (Rapid test) is done in-facility and the results will be provided on the same day. We also perform PCR test which will give you the result in 72 hours (business days) and Antibodies test that needs a provider’s orders and the lab is sent out to a lab. These test results take 3-7 days.
Q. What is the accuracy rate of the tests?
A. Antigen’s Accuracy Rate Sensitivity – 87.5% Accuracy rate Specificity – 100% We do not have accuracy rate for PCR and antibody test.
Q. Which company is providing kits for testing?
A. We are using Sofia – Quidel kits for angiten (rapid test) and North West labs for PCR testing kits.
Q. Is it a nose swab?
A. Yes, Antigen tests and PCR tests are a nice nasal swab.
Q. How soon will I get the result?
A. You will get the result on the same day for antigen (instant test) and for PCR and blood tests which requires lab work it might take up to 3-7 business days hours.
Q. Do you accept my insurance?
A. We accept most insurances please check with your insurance company and no travel insurances. You will be responsible for any copays and deductibles.
Q. Does my insurance cover it?
A. We would recommend you to call your insurance company to find out.
Q. How much is the COVID-19 test if you have no insurance?
A. It is going to cost you $150 out of pocket for antigen instant testing and $225 for PCR tests out of pocket. If you want to get both of them then it is going to cost you $275.
